Terms of Use
These terms cover use of northbound.gg — the marketing site you're on now. They don't cover registration, rosters, match play, or payment, which happen on hub.kanaliiga.fi under its own terms, or on FACEIT and Discord under theirs. By using this site, you agree to what's below.
1. Who runs this site
Northbound is operated by the team behind Kanaliiga. A registered legal entity for Northbound has not been finalized yet — this section will be updated with the operator's full legal name once that's confirmed.
2. What this site is
northbound.gg exists to explain the league and point you toward registration and the community — it doesn't run the league itself. Everything operational (rosters, fixtures, standings, payments) is handled by hub.kanaliiga.fi. Nothing on this site constitutes a binding registration, purchase, or contract on its own.
3. Season 1 is not guaranteed
Northbound does not launch in January unless at least 56 teams have registered by the December decision point (the target is 70). Registering interest before that point is free and non-binding — no payment is collected until Season 1 is confirmed. If the 56-team floor isn't reached, Season 1 isn't cancelled — it shifts to the next scheduled season slot instead, and nobody owes anything in the meantime. Pricing, division count, match frequency, season length, and other format details described on this site are current intentions, not fixed commitments, until published in the rulebook ahead of registration closing.
4. Registration and payment happen elsewhere
Creating a team, managing a roster, and paying entry fees all happen on hub.kanaliiga.fi, which has its own terms of service governing that relationship. Reaching that site through a link here doesn't change whose terms apply once you're there.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use this site in a way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair it, or interfere with anyone else's ability to use it — including scraping, automated crawling beyond normal search-engine indexing, or attempting to bypass any technical restriction.
6. Intellectual property
The Northbound name, logo, and the copy and design of this site belong to Northbound and may not be reproduced or reused without permission, aside from ordinary sharing of links and screenshots. Everything else referenced here — FACEIT, Discord, Counter-Strike — belongs to its respective owner, and Northbound isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
7. Third-party links
This site links out to hub.kanaliiga.fi, Discord, and FACEIT. We don't control those services and aren't responsible for their content, availability, or how they handle your data — see each service's own terms and privacy policy.
8. No warranty
This site is provided as-is. We try to keep it accurate and up to date, but we make no guarantee that it's free of errors, always available, or uninterrupted.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Northbound isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of this site. This doesn't limit any liability that can't be excluded under Finnish law.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site and the league evolve, and will update the date at the top whenever we do.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
