01 — SITUATION
Counter-Strike has great tournaments. But where's the league for everyone?
THE PROBLEM
Restricted leagues
Company-only, school-only, age restrictions. Most existing leagues aren't actually open to you.
Open tournaments
Great for finding the best team. Poor for balanced competition — one-sided stomps are the norm.
Finding teammates
Discord posts disappear. There's no standardized way to find a stable team.
FACEIT
Great for individual stats. Doesn't show team history or reliability.
OUR SOLUTION
A league built different.
- Open registration for every team
- Skill-based placement across multiple divisions
- Promotion & relegation every season
- Playoffs or relegation battles — nobody's season ends early
- Fair, competitive matches all season long
- Community first, always
02 — DOCTRINE
Building the home of amateur and semi-competitive Counter-Strike in the Nordics.
Northbound is an open seasonal Counter-Strike league where anyone can participate, teams are placed into divisions based on skill, and every match is designed to feel competitive — not a coin flip and not a guaranteed stomp.
WHY WE'RE DIFFERENT
Most leagues optimize for finding the strongest team. We optimize for making Week 6 still enjoyable for Division 7.
That's a different product — read why we exist →03 — OPERATIONS
14 teams. Two groups. Everyone plays until the season ends.
Matches are played on FACEIT. Each division runs 14 teams split into two groups of 7 — the top 4 from each group play a double-elimination Championship Playoffs, while the other 6 play a best-of-3 Relegation Group at the same time, so nobody's season ends early. Four 9-week seasons run every year, with promotion and relegation keeping every division competitive.
